Announcement Regarding Payment System
Recently, we have been facing issues on our website due to duplicate payments. The primary issue involves the sale of more products than the available stock, resulting in cases where customers purchase out of stock items. This, in turn, necessitates refunds on our end, causing frustration for some customers.
We have thoroughly investigated this matter with Shopify and have identified a solution. Currently, our payment methods include PayPal and Eximbay. However, these payment methods have not been able to prevent issues from occurring during the transition from Shopify to external payment gateways.
Due to the immense popularity of certain items, like signed albums, multiple customers attempt to purchase them within seconds. However, external payment gateways, such as PayPal, take 1-3 seconds to process and signal the system that the item is sold out. Unfortunately, during this brief period, another customer might make a purchase before the 'sold out' signal is received, resulting in instances of over-purchase.
To address these concerns, we have decided to implement Shopify Payments within this month. This payment solution is expected to effectively prevent the issues we have been facing, and it will also offer additional payment options such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Upon the implementation of Shopify Payments, we will disable the use of PayPal for orders exceeding a total amount of $80. We aim to implement these restrictions gradually, with the ultimate goal of phasing out PayPal as a payment option.
Please note that this process will not be immediate and will be carried out in stages, as indicated in our December announcement.
In addition to these changes, we are actively working on incorporating Wise, and local payment methods. We will provide continuous updates on relevant developments.
We sincerely appreciate all our customers who use our website, and we are committed to delivering an improved service.
Best regards,
