The top of the lid is decorated with a mythical beast (ruishou), and the lower sides of the lid feature pleats for added decorative detail, making it a high-quality vessel. The base shows traces of sand support, oxidized brown matter from long periods of aging, and clods of earth. The edge of the base reveals dripping marks and glaze loss.
