The company began in 1947 as "Makino Shokai," a company founded near a US military base in Saitama Prefecture, importing, repairing, and selling remnants of US military uniforms (Surplus) and vintage Levi's.

Using the expertise gained from repairing US military uniforms, the company successfully produced (reprinted) the MA-1 flight jacket in 1964, the first in Japan.

In 1972, the "HOUSTON" brand was officially launched through Union Trading Co., Ltd.

1947년 창업주가 사이타마현 미군 부대 근처에서 미군 군복 잔여물(Surplus)과 빈티지 리바이스 등을 수입 및 수선하여 판매하던 '마키노 상회'가 시작입니다.

미군 군복을 수선하며 쌓은 노하우로 1964년 일본 최초로 MA-1 항공 점퍼를 자체 제작(복각)하는 데 성공했습니다.

1972년 'Union Trading' 주식회사를 통해 공식적으로 'HOUSTON' 브랜드를 전개하기 시작했습니다.
