[BUNJANG] Chungha Book / 천강채화복화계문필산

This is a Qing Dynasty Tiangangcai painting with a flower, butterfly, and rooster pattern and a brushstrokes.
In the mid-19th century, after the Taiping Rebellion destroyed the official kilns in Jingdezhen,
displaced painters began to migrate to private kilns,
and freely display their artistic talents, which led to the birth of Tiangangcai porcelain.
It reached its peak of popularity during the Guangxu period (1875-1908),
which can be seen as deeply connected to the Qing Dynasty's declining national power, which was unable to properly manage the official kilns in Jingdezhen. This brush-mountain, as the name suggests, is a mountain-shaped object (= pilga, 筆架) for resting a brush.
One side features a rooster, symbolizing official position, and a cockscomb-like flower,
a cockscomb (cock-crown flower),
inspiring the idea of striving for academic success and promotion.
The other side features a bat, symbolizing good fortune,
invoking a wish for good fortune.
While somewhat rough,
it fully captures the spirit of the late Qing Dynasty and the flavor of folk porcelain.
It is a scholar's four treasures, offering both practicality and decorative appeal, and possessing significant collection value.
It measures approximately 6.7 cm in height and 12.6 cm in length,
and is in perfect condition. (Including the custom paulownia box)

청대 천강채 화복 화계문(花蝠 花鷄紋) 필산(筆山)이다.
19세기 중반, 태평천국의 난으로 경덕진의 관요가 파괴된 후,
갈 곳을 잃은 화공들이 민간 가마로 유입되면서
자신들의 예술성을 자유롭게 발휘하기 시작한 것이
천강채자가 태어나게 된 계기가 되었다.
이후 광서년간(1875~1908)에 최고의 인기를 누렸는데,
이는 경덕진 관요를 제대로 운영할 능력이 안되었던
청나라의 쇠퇴한 국력과도 깊은 연관이 있다고 볼 수 있다.
본 필산은 어휘 그대로, 붓을 걸쳐 놓는 산 모양 물건(= 필가, 筆架)인데,
한 면에는 관직(벼슬)을 뜻하는 닭과 닭벼슬 처럼 생긴 꽃인
맨드라미(계관화, 鷄冠花)를 시문하여
학문에 정진하고 등용되라는 의미를 담았고,
다른 면에는 복(福)을 상징하는 박쥐를 그려
복 받기를 축원하였다.
약간은 거친 듯하나
청말의 시대상의 단면과 민요자기의 맛을
충분히 느낄 수 있는 문방사우 기물로
실용성 및 장식성이 좋고 소장가치 또한 크다 하겠다.
크기는 높이 약 6.7, 길이 12.6 센티미터이고
상태는 완전하다. (맞춤 오동상자 포함)
