This exquisite landscape painting is the work of Chungha Im Young Il, a disciple of Namnong Heo Geon, a master of Southern School painting. Im Young Il's works have been recognized in numerous Korea Art Exhibitions.

The painting, measuring 69cm x 43cm and dating back to 1978, depicts natural elements such as mountains, valleys, trees, and water. A thatched-roof house (Seo-ok) nestled among the trees in the lower right corner hints at the life of a scholar in seclusion. A small boat on the river adds to the serene and tranquil atmosphere.

The composition features a close-up view of trees and houses at the bottom, with an increasing use of blank space and a calm brushstroke towards the top, creating a sense of depth and perspective.
