This is the 1973 CTI Records release, "Deodato 2," by Brazilian fusion jazz master Eumir Deodato. Following the global success of his previous album, "Also Sprach Zarathustra," this record features his signature stylish interpretation of classical and pop songs through funky crossover jazz.

Highlights include a grooving, 10-minute-plus fusion rendition of George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," a dreamy jazz-rock version of Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin," an arrangement of Ravel's "Pavane for a Dead Princess," and Deodato's own funky tracks like "Skyscrapers" and "Super Strut."

Eumir Deodato, a keyboardist and masterful arranger, effortlessly fused the lyricism of Bossa Nova with American Funk and classical orchestration. Produced by Creed Taylor and engineered by the legendary Rudy Van Gelder, the album boasts a stellar lineup of session musicians. Expect dynamic drumming from Billy Cobham, solid electric bass lines from Stanley Clarke and John Giuliano, sharp rock/funk guitar solos from John Tropea, and vibrant percussion from Rick Marotta and Hilberto Silva, all complementing Deodato's fluid electric piano for an explosive groove.
