This is the 17th original studio album by the Japanese band Mr. Children, titled 'Gravity and Breathing' (重力と呼吸).

Released on October 3, 2018, the album represents the band's return to their core musical identity. Vocalist Kazutoshi Sakurai described the album as an effort to capture the sound of the four band members, aiming to express the essence of life and provide a stimulus to fans after celebrating their 25th anniversary.

'Gravity and Breathing' features a collection of carefully selected songs that embody the band's passion, longing, love, and impulse for music. It includes previously released singles such as the theme song for the movie 'I Want to Eat Your Pancreas,' 'himawari,' the theme song for the Fuji TV drama 'My Neighbor Is Too Blue,' 'here comes my love,' and the theme song for the TV Asahi drama 'Bald Takagi,' 'SINGLES.' The album also contains the completed version of the unreleased demo song 'Skin Breathing,' which was used in the 'docomo 25th Anniversary' campaign commercial.

사쿠라이 카즈토시는 본작에 대해 [지금까지라면 노래이야기나 청취자 각각의 생활에서나 주역을 맡으면서 보여지는 경치를 이미지 하였지만, 이번에는 그게 아니라 밴드, 이 4명이 보이는 소리로 하고싶었습니다] [삶을 굉장한 이미지 로 만든 앨범]이라고 말하고 있다.
그 이유에 대해서, 「삶의 모습이라고 하는 것을 표현하는, 그렇게 할 수 있는 밴드이고 싶다고 생각해」 「25주년을 끝내고, 즉 이만큼 팬에게 감사를 고한 후에, 「지금의 우리는 이런 것이다」라고 의사표시를 하는 것이 팬에게 있어서도 Mr.Children에게도 자극적인 것이 아닐까 생각한다」라고 말하고 있다.
25주년이 넘도록 마음속에 록밴드로서의 외침을 간직하며 원점으로 돌아가 밴드 안에 있는 음악에 대한 열정, 동경, 사랑, 충동을 다시 한번 4명이 필사적으로 맞서 혼신의 앨범을 완성했다.
영화 「너의 췌장을 먹고 싶다」주제가 「himawari」, 후지TV 계열 드라마 「옆집은 파랗게 보인다」주제가 「here comes my love」, TV 아사히 계열 목요드라마 「대머리 타카」주제가 「SINGLES」에 더해 『docomo 25th Anniversary』캠페인 CM에서 당시 "미발표곡 DEMO"로서 기용된 악곡의 완성형 「피부 호흡」외를 수록."지금, 울리고 싶은 소리, 듣고 싶은 소리"를 엄선해 수록한 음반이다.
