Released on February 27, 2019, "Eye" is the first album from the band in approximately four years, following their previous work "Tree." This project saw the band expand their sound, resulting in a double-album concept. "Eye" encapsulates their "madness," while its companion album, "Lip," showcases their "pop" sensibilities. This limited edition includes a bonus DVD featuring footage from their 2018 outdoor tour "INSOMNIA TRAIN" - specifically, the Yamanashi performance, edited for broadcast.

**Album Concept:**

Band member Nakajin explained that the four-year gap was partly due to their work on the album "Chameleon" under the alias End of the World. Fukase elaborated on the dual-album concept, stating, "There were many things born and thought of in my heart over these four years, and I felt I had to express them in music across two albums. As the proverb goes, the eyes speak as much as the mouth, but what the eyes say differs from what the mouth says. However, to express oneself, both are necessary, so I adopted the concept of "Eye" and "Lip" as two sides of the same coin."

**Musical Evolution:**

Compared to "Tree," the lyrics on "Eye" are more direct, consciously aiming to convey messages clearly to the listener. The sound also shifts, moving away from experimental instrumentation used to create a fantasy world in the previous album. "Eye" utilizes more traditional instruments, aiming for a timeless, classic sound. Fukase's vocal delivery also evolves, intentionally shifting from the boyish style reminiscent of earlier works to a more mature approach.

전작 「Tree」로부터 약 4년만의 앨범이 완성.오랜 세월에 걸쳐 제작된 음반은 한 장에 들어가지 않고 두 장의 음반이 됐다. 그들의"광기"를 응축해 가둔 「Eye」와, 그들의"팝"을 유감없이 발휘한 「Lip」이라고 하는, 짝이 되는 2매를 동시에 릴리스. 
4년이라고 하는 세월을 거친 것에 대해 Nakajin은 「 「Tree」발매 후, End of the World 명의로의 앨범 「Chameleon」의 제작을 해 발매 후에 다음 앨범의 일을 생각하려고 생각하고 있었더니 시간이 걸려 버렸다」라고 한다.  Fukase는 이번 작에 대해 「이 4년간에 마음속에 태어난 것이나 생각한 것이 많이 있어,그것을 음악으로 만들려면 2장으로 표현하지 않으면 안 된다고 느꼈다.속담에 눈은 입만큼 말을 한다고 하지만 눈이 말하는 것과 입이 말하는 것은 다르다고 생각한다.그렇지만, 자신을 말하기 위해서는 양쪽 모두 필요하기 때문에, 「Eye」 「Lip」라고 하는 표리일체를 컨셉으로 했다」라고 말하고 있다.
작풍도 전작과는 다르게 가사는 이야기에 실리지 않고, 하고 싶은 말을 확실하게 상대방에게 전달하고자 의식한 악곡이 많아졌고, 사운드도 판타지적인 세계관을 표현하기 위해 악기가 아닌 것을 악기로 사용한 전작에 비해 이번 작품에서는 시대를 초월하여 더욱 사랑받는 왕도한 악기만 사용되고 있다. Fukase의 가창법도, 전작까지의 소년을 상기시키는 창법에서, 어른을 의식한 창법으로 의도적으로 바꾸고 있다.
Eye 앨범은 초회한정반과 통상반의 2형태로 발매되며, 초회한정반에는 특전으로서 야외투어 『SEKAI NO OWARI 야외투어 2018 「INSOMNIA TRAIN」으로부터 야마나시 공연의 모습을 스카파! 편집으로 수록한 DVD가 동봉되었다.
