This is a valuable Bangjja Yugi rice container, historically used in aristocratic households. In the era before electric rice cookers, mothers would use this to keep rice warm by covering it with blankets near the 'Arimok' (warmest part of the floor). The handles on both sides were designed to prevent burns when moving the container filled with hot rice.
Items with the 'Jjoy' engraving are rare.
