Hagi ware originated in the 16th century during the Imjin War when Korean potters Yi Gyeong and Yi Jakgwang were taken to Japan and established kilns in the Hagi village. It inherited and developed the aesthetics of Korean Ido ware, highly admired by Japanese tea masters at the time, adapting it to local Japanese soil. It was the first kiln in Japan to reproduce Ido ware.
Hagi ware remains popular in Japan and is still cherished by those who practice traditional Korean tea ceremonies.
This particular tea pot features a beautiful "biwa" (loquat) color. The fine crackles ("byongryeol") are densely packed, and the glaze has absorbed tea over long periods of use, creating a rich patina. The interior shows a fantastic pooling of glaze.
This piece would be an excellent addition to the collection of any enthusiast of Ido ware.
The condition is good, with only dust present. It is being sold as-is, without cleaning, to preserve its collected state.

100년 이상의 古萩 고하기 이도유약의 차호 다관 입니다.
萩焼는 16세기 임진왜란 당시 일본으로 끌려간 조선인 도공 이경과 이작광 형제가 하기마을에 가마를 열면서 시작되었습니다.
당시 일본 다인들이 가장 동경했던 조선의 이도다완의 미학을 일본 현지 토양에 맞춰 계승하고 발전시켰습니다.
일본에서 최초로 이도다완을 재현한 가마이기도 합니다.
고하기는 일본내에서도 인기가 많으며 지금까지도 조선의 차를 내는 분께는 사랑받고 있습니다.
본 다관은 비파색의 촘촘한 빙렬 사이로 다인이 오랫동안 사용하여 차심이 잘 스며들어 있습니다.
안쪽으로 유약의 뭉침이 환상적입니다.
