This piece traces its stylistic roots to the Song and Yuan Dynasties, showcasing the quintessential structure of traditional lidded containers that continued through the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
A notable detail is the intentional absence of glaze on the inner rim where the body and lid meet, a technique employed during firing to prevent the two parts from sticking together.
The base, supported by eight small feet, exhibits natural traces of refractory clay mixed with fine sand, further evidence of traditional firing methods.
Minor imperfections include a slight blurring of the butterfly motif on the lid, likely from contact within the kiln during firing, and a small chip on the rim, considered minor flaws.

단정하면서도 부드러운 8각 형태의 화장기입니다.
청대 기물로 추정되는 이 기물은 송원대(宋元代) 양식에
그 뿌리를 둔 것으로, 명대를 거쳐 청대까지 이어진 전통 합의 전형적인 구조를 보여주고 있습니다.
(특히 몸통과 뚜껑이 맞닿는 부분에 유액을 시유하지 않은
상태로, 소성 시 두 부분이 서로 붙지 않도록 처리하였습니다.)
여덟 개의 작은 다리로 이루어진 굽 바닥에도 아주 고운 모래가 섞인 내화토 흔적이 자연스럽게 남아 있는데,
이 역시 전통 방식으로 소성한 흔적이라 하겠습니다.
아쉬운 것은 뚜껑의 나비 문양이 가마 안에서 다른 무엇인가와 접촉하여 일부가 뭉개진 점과 구연부 미세 튐인데, 옥에 티라 하겠습니다.
