[BUNJANG] Brass Traditional Lock with Matching Key and Latch /

This is a traditional lock crafted from brass. It comes complete with its matching key and latch, and is in fully functional condition. A rare antique with high collectible value.

This is a traditional brass lock used in old styles for chests, bandaji (traditional Korean chests), moon-gabs (drawers), and jewelry boxes.

The lock features a classic structure combining a cylindrical body and a rectangular plate. It is presumed to be made of a non-ferrous brass-based alloy that does not attract magnets. The body appears to be constructed from cast and molded metal parts, assembled robustly, rather than being lightly plated iron.

The set includes the lock body, the latch, and its dedicated key, all matching.
Locking and unlocking with the key operate smoothly and are fully functional. Many old locks suffer from lost keys or broken internal mechanisms, but this product's advantage lies in its complete set of components and actual usability.

The total length with the key inserted is approximately 12cm, and it weighs about 96g. Its simple and practical beauty, rather than ornate patterns, makes it suitable for display with traditional antique furniture or for collecting as a folk item or old lock.

The surface shows natural oxidation, staining, and wear consistent with age. It has been preserved in its current state without artificial polishing.

While the style is that of a traditional lock used from the late Joseon Dynasty to the modern era, the exact manufacturing date and metal composition have not been professionally appraised, so it is sold as 'presumed brass, manufacturing date unknown'. Please review the photos carefully before purchasing.
