This vessel embodies the simple elegance and restrained aesthetics characteristic of Joseon celadon, contained within its small, neat form. The unadorned shape allows for an appreciation of the refined aesthetic consciousness of Joseon pottery.
The most captivating feature of this tea cup is the slightly distorted rim, naturally formed during the firing process. The unintentionally altered shape, a result of intense heat, would have been discarded as defective at the kiln site during that era. Today, however, it is appreciated as an instance of accidental beauty, unachievable through artificial means, conveying a profound wabi-sabi aesthetic.
Traces of clay from another vessel attached during firing remain on the exterior. Otherwise, the cup is in perfect condition, with no repairs to glaze imperfections.

조선시대 후기 전라도 지역 가마에서 제작된 백자 찻잔입니다.
작고 단정한 기형 안에 조선 백자 특유의 담백함과 절제된 미감이 고스란히 담겨 있는 기물로, 군더더기 없는 형태에서 조선 도자의 정제된 미의식을 느낄 수 있습니다.
이 찻잔의 가장 큰 매력은 소성 과정에서 자연스럽게 형성된 찌글어진 구연부에 있습니다. 강한 화력 속에서 의도치 않게 변형된 형태는 당시에는 불량품으로 가마터에 버려졌으나, 오늘날에는 인위적으로 만들 수 없는 우연의 아름다움으로 평가받으며 깊은 와비사비적 미감을 전해줍니다.
기물 외면에는 소성 중 다른 기물의 태토가 부착된 흔적이 남아 있으며, 그 외에는 유 튐 수리없이 완벽한 상태를 유지하고 있습니다.
