A ceremonial dagger, or 'jangdo', is a dagger crafted to be a hand's span in size for carrying, characterized by its concise yet traditional elegance. It embodies a uniquely Korean aesthetic within its sharp and robust blade. The term 'jangdo' (粧刀) literally means 'adorned knife', also referred to as 'paedo' or 'nangdo'. Historically, it was worn at the waist by grandfathers, hence 'paedo', or carried in pockets by grandmothers, hence 'nangdo'. Both men and women, young and old, carried one as a daily tool, not for harming others, but for self-protection. This is a dagger that tempers the wielder's mind within its sharp blade.

Crafted from pure silver (純銀) melted at 1065 degrees Celsius, this dagger is the result of countless intricate processes, embodying the spirit of the artisan.
