Takehiko was born in Chiba Prefecture during the Meiji era. In 1922, he moved to Tokyo to study the art of silver chasing under the renowned master Tajima Katsuyuki. He further refined his skills under the tutelage of Kosaka Munhiro.

In 1936, he established his own studio, pausing his work briefly during World War II. After the war, with the return of peace, he resumed his artistic endeavors with full vigor.

Motivated by the principle of "making precious metal art crafts accessible to everyone," Takehiko championed the popularization of gold and silver crafts, which were once exclusive to the elite. He masterfully fused traditional handcrafted techniques with modern innovations, creating pieces of intricate and delicate three-dimensional forms.

This particular fan features meticulously carved pine, plum, and bamboo motifs, with the leaves delicately plated in gold. The fan is signed with Takehiko's inscription in sterling silver, and a separate signature for his works is also present.

昭和11년에 자신의 공방을 열고 독립하여
제2차 세계대전에 잠시 쉬다가 전후
평화가 찾아오면서 본격적인 작품 활동을 재개했습니다.
