This insignia was first introduced on March 25, 1975. Following the official acquisition of the nickname "Kremlin" by the KGB's 9th Directorate Special Purpose Regiment in 1973, the insignia was officially established by order of the KGB Chairman to reward officers, non-commissioned officers, and conscripts, at the request of the regimental command (then Colonel Alexei Petrovich Ivanov). Awarded to officers and soldiers with impeccable service, success in combat and political training, and exemplary military discipline. Guardsmen guarding the Kremlin and Lenin's Mausoleum belong to this unit. This insignia, produced by the Leningrad Mint, is quite rare and was worn on KGB uniforms or formal wear.

1975년 3월 25일에 처음으로 도입된 휘장입니다.
1973년 KGB 제9국 특수목적연대가 "크렘린"이라는 별칭을 공식적으로 획득함에 따라, 연대 사령부(당시 연대장 알렉세이 페트로비치 이바노프 대령)의 요청에 의해 KGB 의장 명령이 발효되어 장교, 부사관, 징집병에게 보상하기 위해 "크렘린 연대" 뱃지를 공식적으로 신설했습니다.

흠잡을 데 없는 복무, 전투 및 정치 훈련의 성공, 모범적인 군사 규율을 갖춘 장교 및 병사가 수여 대상이었습니다.

크렘린궁과 레닌 영묘를 경비하는 근위병들이 이 부대 소속입니다. KGB에서 몇 안되는 상시 제복근무 조직의 휘장으로, KGB 정복이나 예복에 부착해서 활용할 수 있습니다. 상당히 희귀합니다.
