[BUNJANG] Stanley Jordan Magic Touch LP Blue Note / (블루노트, 재즈 기타리스트, 스탠리 조던 데뷔 앨범) Stanley Jordan - Magic Touch LP

This is the Blue Note pressing of Stanley Jordan's debut album, "Magic Touch LP".

**Album Details:**
Stanley Jordan's debut album, "Magic Touch", released in 1985 on Blue Note. Jordan gained significant attention for his revolutionary "two-hand tapping" technique, allowing him to play melody and accompaniment simultaneously on the guitar. The album spent 51 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart and achieved Gold status in the US, selling over 500,000 copies.

**Notable Tracks:**
* **Eleanor Rigby:** A reinterpretation of The Beatles' classic, showcasing Jordan's signature tapping technique where accompaniment and melody move independently, creating multiple voices from a single guitar. This track, along with "The Lady In My Life", was a key repertoire that led to the album's success, receiving support from smooth jazz radio.
* **The Lady In My Life:** A cover of the song composed by Rod Temperton and first performed by Michael Jackson. Jordan's rendition offers a delicate interpretation based on the original's smooth melody, blending technical innovation with popular sensibility.

Jordan's playing style, unlike conventional methods where one hand frets and the other plucks, features both hands independently creating distinct melodies and harmonies. This approach expands the expressive range of the guitar, akin to playing multiple voices on a piano. The album captivates listeners not only with its technical prowess but also with its fluid melodies and warm expressions.

The selection includes original compositions alongside covers of iconic songs from artists such as Miles Davis ("Freddie Freeloader"), Michael Jackson ("The Lady In My Life"), and Jimi Hendrix ("Angel"), spanning jazz, pop, and rock. It's an excellent entry point for those new to jazz guitar, offering a unique approach to familiar tunes. This album is also significant as a key work symbolizing the revival of Blue Note in the 1980s.

비틀스의 「Eleanor Rigby」, 마일스 데이비스의 「Freddie Freeloader」, 마이클 잭슨의 「The Lady In My Life」, 지미 헨드릭스의 「Angel」 등 재즈와 팝·록을 넘나드는 선곡에 자작곡을 더했다.

Eleanor Rigby /
「The Lady In My Life」와 함께 스무스 재즈 라디오의 지지를 받아 앨범의 성공을 이끈 주요 레퍼토리다.

The Lady In My Life / 내 삶의 여인
