[BUNJANG] 19th Century Joseon White Porcelain Oil Lamp / 조선백자등잔
This piece carries the warmth and preciousness of history, having been used and passed down through generations. While it bears subtle signs of its long journey, including faint soot marks and minor chips, these are testament to its function in illuminating spaces and fostering communication.
Crafted from white clay, meticulously processed for superior texture and balance, and fired at high temperatures in a wood-fired kiln, this lamp is a representative example of Joseon white porcelain.

- Base Diameter: 13.5 cm
Condition:
Excellent, with the exception of a minor chip (see photo 6/9).
(Photo 9/9 shows a blue and white porcelain oil lamp from the Qing Dynasty, from the same era.)

오랜세월 동안 사용하고 전해져 오면서
그을음도 묻고 미세한 튐도 생겼지만,
무지함을 깨우치고 소통의 공간을 밝히는데
쓰였던 기물임을 생각하면 소중함과 따뜻함이 느껴집니다.
제대로 된 수비와 토련의 과정을 거친 백토로
균형 잡힌 형태를 빚고 장작가마에서 고온 소성으로 완성한
조선의 대표적 백자 대열에 합류한 기물이라 하겠습니다.
높이는 약 13.8, 받침지름은 13.5 cm이고
상태는 미세 튐(사진 6/9 참조)외 완전합니다.
