This is a rare piece from the late 80s to early 90s, originally purchased from a vintage specialty shop in the US.

The Tennessee Volunteers are the historic American football team of the University of Tennessee, with a legacy spanning nearly 140 years.

This jacket was produced by Gregory Stewart, a US local brand, with Korean OEM manufacturing during a time when South Korean craftsmanship was globally recognized.

5년 전 미국 출장 중 한 스포츠 전문 구제 편집샵에서 비싸게 데려온 녀석인데, 옷장 정리하며 내놓습니다.

테네시 볼런티어스는 테네시 대학 대표 미식축구팀으로, 1890년대에 창립된 이래로 140년 가까이 남동부 컨퍼런스에서 뛰고 있는 유서 깊은 대학 리그팀입니다.

이 옷은 미국 로컬 브랜드였던 그레고리 스튜어트가 담당하여 제작한 80-90년대 생산 팀 자켓으로, 대한민국 수공업이 세계적으로 인정 받던 시기에 한국 OEM으로 만들어진 메이드 인 코리아 제품입니다.

구매 당시 사장님이 제가 한국 사람이란 거 아시고는 굳이 뒤쪽에 있던거 꺼내서 보여주셨는데, 상술인거 뻔히 보였음에도 이 희소성과 옷 상태, 사이즈 등등 유혹을 피하기 어려웠던 기억이 있습니다.

표기 사이즈는 XL인데, 미국 기준에다 미식축구팀이 입는 옷이라 그런지 넉넉히 두 치수는 커서 국내 사이즈 기준 오버핏 110(XXL) ~ 넉넉 115(XXXL) 정도 됩니다.

옷 컨디션은 연식에 비해 깨끗한 편이지만 오른쪽 소매 변색이랑 목 뒤 라벨 부분, 앞뒤 로고 등등 사용감이 있긴 합니다. 보풀도 좀 있구요.(마지막 사진) 개인적으로는 그게 오히려 멋스럽다 느껴집니다만 그래도 예민하신 분은 피해주세요.

바디 부분은 울, 양팔은 팀 컬러인 오렌지로 염색한 소가죽으로 되어있고, 안감은 팀 로고가 박힌 퀼팅 처리되어 있습니다.

400달러 부르는 거 깎고 깎아서 현금가로 350달러에 구매했는데, 나중에 보니 당시 사장님이 마냥 근거없이 부른건 아닌 게, 요 브랜드 협업의 대학리그 팀 자켓 자체가 거의 남아있지 않은 상당히 희소한 매물입니다. 사이즈도 좋구요.

실착은 물론 팬이시라면 소장 가치도 높은 옷입니다. 취향에 맞다면 인테리어 오브제로 놓기에도 안성맞춤이구요.
