This exceptional piece is a large, square celadon porcelain platter in the classic Ko-Imari style, crafted in the Arita region of Kyushu, Japan, during the late Edo period transitioning into the Meiji era (circa 19th century).

Measuring an impressive 36.2cm wide and 6.3cm high, this platter boasts a substantial presence and depth, indicative of its high quality.

The center of the plate features a meticulously hand-painted symmetrical chrysanthemum and leaf motif, radiating elegantly from the center. The rim is finished in a graceful, undulating hexagonal shape, adding significant artistic flair.

The outer border is divided into panels, showcasing a harmonious blend of the negative-resist (ukou-e) technique, where patterns are revealed against a deep cobalt blue background, and geometric designs, creating a truly opulent appearance.

The underside of the foot rim bears a distinct, stylized 'fuku' character mark, a traditional auspicious symbol used in Ko-Imari ware since the Edo period, along with a swirling pattern. This mark confirms its authenticity as a handmade antique produced in a formal traditional kiln.

19세기 에도 시대 후기에서 메이지 시대 전후에 일본 규슈 아리타 지역에서 제작된 전형적인 고이마리(古伊萬里) 양식의 청화백자 사각 대반입니다. 가로 36.2cm, 높이 6.3cm의 대형 사이즈로 묵직한 존재감과 깊이감을 자랑하는 명품 기물입니다.

접시 중앙에는 사방으로 아름답게 뻗어 나가는 대칭 구조의 국화문과 잎사귀가 정교하게 필사되어 있으며, 테두리는 부드러운 물결 모양의 능화형으로 마감되어 조형미가 매우 뛰어납니다. 외곽에는 칸을 나누어 짙은 코발트 블루 바탕에 문양을 살려내는 역청화 기법과 기하학적 패널 장식을 조화롭게 배치하여 화려함의 극치를 보여줍니다.
