This antique is a bronze Four-Directional Buddha reliquary, a relic container crafted in the architectural style of a pagoda. It dates back to the Tang Dynasty and the Northern Song Dynasty in China.

The reliquary features four Buddhas on each side, along with the Four Heavenly Kings at the base, showcasing the devotion of the imperial and aristocratic classes, and the high level of metal craftsmanship of the time.

본 유물은 중국 당(唐)에서 북송(北宋) 시기에 유행한 **‘청동제 사방불 누각식 사리함’**으로, 사찰의 탑을 정교한 건축물 형태로 축소하여 금속으로 제작한 보탑형 사리 장엄구입니다.

함의 몸체 네 면에는 자비로운 표정의 **사방불(四方佛)**이 부조로 새겨져 있고 기단부에는 불 법을 수호하는 사천왕상이 배치되어 있으며, 내부에는 연꽃 받침 위에 놓인 내합과 그 안에 안치된 유리제 사리 및 공양구가 온전하게 구성되어 있어 당시 황실이나 귀족층의 높은 불교 신앙심과 금속 공예 기술의 정수를 잘 보여줍니다. 미감정품.
