This is the reissue of BUMP OF CHICKEN's debut independent album, "FLAME VEIN". Originally released on March 18, 1999, under High Line Records, this reissue was launched by Toys Factory on April 28, 2004.

* **Recording:** All songs were recorded in just two days.
* **Lyrics:** All lyric cards feature handwritten lyrics by vocalist Motoo Fujiwara, completed during his breaks from part-time work.
* **Artwork:** The "CHICKEN'S MOVIE FILM" section includes a story about a cat named Nicole searching for its home.
* **Title Meaning:** "FLAME VEIN" translates to "blood vessel of fire" or "vein of passion." The title was inspired by the appearance of blood vessels during the recording sessions.

​'FLAME VEIN' 은 BUMP OF CHICKEN의 인디 1집 앨범.1999년 3월 18일 하이라인 레코즈에서 발매되었으며 메이저 데뷔 후인 2004년 4월 28일에는 재발판이 토이즈팩토리에서 발매되었다.
모든 곡 녹음을 이틀 만에 끝냈다.
가사 카드는 모두 보컬 후지와라 모토오가 직접 쓴 것으로 아르바이트 쉬는 시간 등을 이용해 작업을 했다. 또 CHICKEN'S MOVIE FILM으로 자신의 거처를 찾는 고양이(니콜)의 이야기가 곳곳에 적혀 있다.
타이틀 FLAME VEIN 은 「불의 맥」 「정열의 정맥」이라고 하는 의미로, 레코딩중에 혈관이 떠올라 온 것을 보고 생각해 냈다고 한다.
