This is a rare celadon porcelain jar (Sohu), over a thousand years old, dating back to the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. It was used to hold precious medicinal herbs, powders, incense, or spices, with a string attached to hang it.

Crafted from a grayish-white clay body and fired with a green-brown glaze, this piece features a full-bodied form with a small loop on the shoulder. The glazing technique, where the glaze does not cover the entire base, suggests it was likely produced in the early Yuezhou or Hongzhou kilns of the southern regions during that era.

Although appearing slightly rustic, the jar possesses a captivating charm characterized by its dignified and powerful presence. It is a piece that would surely appeal to any antique enthusiast seeking to add to their collection.

귀한 약재 혹은 가루 향이나 향료를 담아 끈을 꿰어 매달아 두던
용도로 쓰였던 기물로, 당(唐)에서 오대십국에 걸쳐 제작된,
천년 내외의 오랜 세월을 견뎌낸 청자 소호이다.
회백색 태토로 빚고 녹갈유를 시유해 소성했으며
풍만한 몸체에 어깨의 작은 계(繫),
유약이 굽 가까이까지 다 발라지지 않은 기법 등으로 볼 때
이 기물은 당시 남방 지역의 초기 월주요나 홍주요에서 제작된 것일 개연성이 높다.
조금은 투박한 듯하지만 당당하고 힘이 느껴지는 매력이 돋보이는 기물로
골동 애호가라면 소장할 만한 기물이 아닐까 싶다.

상태는 완전하다.
