This bowl is a typical example of folk kiln production from the Qing Dynasty. It features a gently sloping body and a stable proportion from the low foot to the rim. The entire vessel is coated with a black-brown glaze, but the center of the inner base shows a 'saturating ring' where the glaze was scraped off to prevent the bowls from sticking together during firing, a common feature in the mass production of utilitarian items for the common people at the time. The unglazed exterior base and foot reveal the rough texture of the clay, showcasing a simple and neat form.

기물 전체에 흑갈색의 유약을 시유하였으나, 대량 생산을 위한 가마 쌓기 과정에서 기물을 겹쳐 굽기 위해 내저(內底) 중앙의 유약을 긁어낸 '삽권(澁圈)' 흔적이 뚜렷하게 남아 있다.

이는 당시 서민들의 실용 기물에서 흔히 발견되는 제작 특징으로, 투박하면서도 견고한 민예적 미감을 드러낸다. 외저(外底)와 굽 주위는 유약을 바르지 않아 거친 태토의 질감이 그대로 노출되어 있으며, 전체적으로 소박하고 단정한 형태미를 갖추고 있다.
