This exquisite statue depicts Guan Yin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, who saves sentient beings from suffering. Crafted in the elegant style of the Chinese Song or Yuan dynasties, it showcases intricate and detailed artistry.

The figure wears a resplendent crown, adorned with pearl necklaces and flowing robes. Notably, it is posed in the 'royal ease' (Lalitasana) posture, with one leg raised and the other resting.

The statue is made from celadon (Qingbai) porcelain, characterized by its subtle bluish-green glaze, a style primarily produced in the kilns of Jingdezhen, China.

Similar artifacts have been discovered among the Sinan shipwrecks, dating from the early 14th century, which were en route to Japan.

Experts generally authenticate pieces of this nature to the 13th-14th centuries (late Song to early Yuan dynasty).

Major museums, such as the National Museum of Korea, house comparable celadon Guan Yin statues.

이 불상은 중국 송나라 혹은 원나라 양식의 청백자 관음보살상 입니다.
이 불상은 고난에 빠진 중생을 구제하는 관음보살을 아주 정교하고 세밀하게 형상화한 것입니다. 화려한 보관을 쓰고 구슬 목걸이와 천의를 걸친 모습이며 특히 한쪽 다리를 세우고 다른쪽 다리를 내린 유희좌 자세를 취하고 있습니다.
은은한 푸른빛이 감도는 청백자(영청자) 재질로 중국 경덕진 가마에서 주로 생산된 양식입니다.
이와 유사한 유물이 14세기 초 중국에서 일본으로 향하던 신안 해저 유물 중에서도 발견된 바 있습니다.
전문가들은 대체로 13~14세기(송말원초) 무렵의 작품으로 감정하곤 합니다.
국립중앙박물관등 주요 박물관에서 비슷한 형태의 청백자 관음보살상을 소장하고 있습니다.
