Presenting a stunning octagonal vase with twin handles, meticulously crafted using the 'Youlihong' (underglaze red) technique, popular in Chinese high-fired ceramics from the Yuan to early Ming dynasties.

This exquisite piece features a white porcelain body adorned with a 'Youlihong' glaze depicting a motif of peonies and birds. The underglaze red technique involves painting with copper oxide pigment on the ceramic surface, followed by a transparent glaze and firing in a high-temperature reducing atmosphere. This process results in the characteristic red or deep reddish-brown hue.

Due to the inherent difficulty in controlling the firing temperature, 'Youlihong' pieces often exhibit unique characteristics such as color bleeding, darkening, or pooling of the pigment. This vase beautifully showcases these authentic features.

The unglazed, rough footrim retains the marks from the trimming process during firing, adding to its historical authenticity.

기법 특성상 불 조절이 어려워 붉은색이 번지거나 흑갈색으로 변하는 경우가 많으며, 뭉치거나
검게 변한 유리홍 고유의 특징이 잘 나타납니다

굽 안쪽 바닥을 깎아낼 때 생긴 특유의 모양
유약이 발라지지 않은 거친 태토의 흔적이
그대로 남아 있습니다.
