This is a large celadon porcelain jar with a cloud and crane motif, created by ceramic artist Cho Kyu-young of So-eun.

Artist Cho Kyu-young is known for reinterpreting traditional pottery techniques in a modern way, and is particularly renowned as a master of the relief carving (yanggak) technique, where patterns are meticulously carved onto the surface of the pottery.

**Pattern and Technique:** After carving cloud (Yun) and crane (Hak) motifs, which are among the ten symbols of longevity, along with landscape (sansu) patterns in relief, the artist added three-dimensionality and vitality using blue celadon and red jinsa pigments.

**Artistic Value:** Cho Kyu-young emphasizes the beauty of nature and is reputed for meticulously crafting each pattern as if carving a stamp during the pottery-making process. His works are evaluated as embodying the spirit of tradition while possessing modern sculptural beauty.

**Use and Form:** This is a stately large jar (Daeho) with broad shoulders that taper towards the bottom, holding high value as an interior decor piece or a collectible artwork.

**Major Activities:** He is also known for his past association with Cardinal Stephen Kim Sou-hwan and has been active in social contribution activities, including serving as the president of the artists' volunteer organization 'Seoul Han Ye Lions Club.'
