[BUNJANG] Classic Chinese Text: Mengzi Shiyi (Commentary on Mencius) / 고서 맹자석의 한문본.맹자 경문 풀이.전통 유학 주석 자료

This is a rare, antique Hanmun (classical Chinese) edition of "Mengzi Shiyi" (孟子釋義), a traditional Confucian commentary on the classic text of Mencius.

**About the Book:**

"Mengzi Shiyi" translates to "Explanations and Meanings of Mencius." This volume is not merely a copy of Mencius's original text, but a traditional scholarly work that interprets and explains its passages and underlying meanings. Mencius, a key figure in Confucianism, explored themes such as the inherent goodness of human nature (성선설), benevolence and righteousness (인의), benevolent governance (왕도정치), the importance of the people (민본사상), and the moral standards for individuals and rulers. It was a fundamental text studied in the Joseon Dynasty for civil service exams and general Chinese studies.

This commentary provides insight into how classical texts were read and understood during its time, offering a direct look at traditional Hanmun education and textual interpretation methods, distinct from modern translations.

**Ideal For:**

* Collectors of classical Hanmun texts and Confucian scriptures.
* Students of Mencius and Eastern philosophy.
* Researchers studying Joseon-era Hanmun education and classical text methodologies.
* Those interested in traditional bibliography and the editing/printing styles of old books.
* Individuals seeking antique books for photography, exhibitions, or interior decoration.

**Condition:**

As a centuries-old book, it exhibits natural signs of age, including paper discoloration, stains, folds, and wear on the edges. These characteristics contribute to its authentic patina, unique to old Hanmun manuscripts, which cannot be found in modern reprints or translations.

*Please note: The exact publication date and edition have not been professionally authenticated. Therefore, it is not definitively classified as a rare first edition or a complete set from a specific period. Kindly examine the provided photos carefully to assess the actual contents and condition.*

This book is highly recommended as a collectible, study, or research resource for those interested in the original text of Mencius and traditional interpretive methods.
