정요백자 빙렬 육방 매병.

높이 22.5cm

중국 정요(定窯) 백자의 전통적인 기형을 바탕으로 제작된 육방형 매병으로, 담백한 백자 유색 위에 자연스럽게 형성된 빙렬이 은은하게 살아 있는 고풍스러운 기물입니다.

육각으로 면을 나눈 몸체가 안정적인 비례를 이루고 있으며, 둥글게 부풀어 오른 견부에서 가늘게 좁아지는 목 부분까지 전체적인 선의 흐름이 매우 단정합니다.

표면에는 세월감을 느끼게 하는 잔잔한 빙렬이 전면적으로 나타나고, 백자 특유의 부드러운 유색과 어우러져 차분한 분위기를 보여줍니다.

저면에는 正和元年三月(정화원년 삼월)명문이 음각되어 있습니다.

중국 북송 휘종(徽宗)의 연호인 정화(政和) 원년은 1111년으로, 명문 자체가 정확하다면 북송 정화 연간을 가리키는 매우 흥미로운 기년명입니다.

다만 명문이 확인된다는 사실과 실제 제작 연대는 별개의 문제이므로, 명문만으로 북송 정요 유물이라고 단정하기보다는 정요 백자의 전통과 북송 정화 연간의 명문을 참고할 수 있는 중국 고방 백자로 보는 것이 보다 신중합니다.
