화면 우측 상단에는 크게 **「南無阿彌陀佛」(남무아미타불·나무아미타불)**이라는 명호가 세로로 적혀 있습니다. 이는 ‘아미타불께 귀의합니다’라는 뜻으로, 동아시아 정토신앙에서 널리 염송되어 온 아미타불의 명호입니다.

그 아래에는 「癸丑冬月 丁雲鵬敬畫」로 읽히는 관지가 이어지며, 대체로 ‘계축년 겨울에 정운붕이 삼가 그리다’라는 의미로 해석할 수 있습니다. 정운붕은 명대 후기 안휘성 휴녕(休寧) 출신의 화가로, 특히 불교·도교 인물과 나한·관음 등의 종교인물화에 뛰어난 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 관지의 계축년(癸丑年)은 60갑자의 하나로 정운붕의 활동시기를 고려할 경우 명대의 1613년과 연결하여 살펴볼 수 있습니다.

특히 법의의 반복되는 가는 선과 부드럽게 굴곡지는 옷주름은 인물의 신체를 따라 아래로 흘러내리도록 구성되었으며, 하단에는 청색 계통의 구름을 배치하여 불신이 구름 위에 현현하는 모습을 나타내고 있습니다. 강한 채색보다는 담채를 중심으로 묵선과 색선을 함께 사용하여 전체적으로 온화하고 정적인 분위기를 형성합니다.

바탕은 오랜 세월에 따른 황갈색의 변색이 전면에 나타나며, 가로 방향의 접힘과 주름, 부분적인 균열 및 마모, 채색의 퇴색 등이 확인됩니다. 이러한 흔적들이 작품 전체에 고르게 남아 있어 고서화 특유의 전래 상태를 보여줍니다. 우측 하단 관지 아래에는 붉은색 인장이 날인되어 있습니다.
