This is the 6th album from the visual rock band Dir en grey, "THE MARROW OF A BONE". This limited edition comes in a digipak with side panels and includes a bonus CD featuring arrangements of three tracks from the main album.

The album features 13 tracks, including powerful songs like "Agitated Screams of Maggots" (whose jacket imagery caused controversy and led to its music video being banned from airplay), "CLEVER SLEAZOID", and the haunting "凌辱の雨" (Ranjoku no Ame).

Kyo described this album as a fusion of their previous distinct approaches to studio work and live performances. The challenging conditions of recording all tracks in a short period due to vocal strain inadvertently enhanced the album's concept.
