Starting from the familiar yellow body and apron, this artwork delves into the character's darker aspects, enhancing its terrifying presence.

**Concept: The Animatronic in Reality**

Inspired by the question, "What would an animatronic that has been used for a long time and neglected look like if it existed in real space?", this repaint focuses on creating a sense of age, decay, and genuine horror, rather than simply darkening the colors.

**Key Features:**

* **Face and Eyes:** The primary focus is on the face, particularly the wide-open jaw and sharp teeth, which are central to Nightmare Chica's terrifying image. The surface is intentionally textured with wear and tear, incorporating resin work, dust, and grime to achieve a realistic, aged material feel. The yellow color is layered with shades of ochre and brown for depth. Lighting and shadow are meticulously designed to highlight surface imperfections, even under direct light.

1. 작품에 대하여

이번 작품은 『Five Nights at Freddy’s』의
Nightmare Chica를 기반으로, 기존 캐릭터의 형태와 공포 이미지를 유지하면서 (리얼리즘에 가까운 질감과 명암을 더한 한정 리페인트 작품)입니다.

치카를 생각하면 노란 몸체와 앞치마의
“LET’S EAT!”이 먼저 떠오릅니다.

하지만 Nightmare Chica는 귀여운 캐릭터의 반대편에 있습니다.
벌어진 턱과 과도하게 드러난 이빨, 낡고 갈라진 표면이 이 캐릭터의 본질적인 공포를 만들어냅니다.

이번 작업에서는 단순히 색을 어둡게 만드는 방식보다,

“오래 사용되고 방치된 애니매트로닉이 실제 공간에 존재한다면 어떤 모습일까.”

라는 생각에서 출발했습니다.

🐔. Nightmare Chica

가장 중요하게 본 부분은 "얼굴과 눈동자"입니다.

특히 수많은 이빨과 크게 벌어진 턱은 Nightmare Chica의 인상을 결정하는 핵심입니다.

표면을 지나치게 깨끗하게 만들기보다 낡고 닳은 흔적을 남기고, 레진 작업과 세부적인 분진,오염 표현을 더해 오래된 소재 특유의 불규칙한 질감을 살렸습니다.

노란색 역시 단일 색으로 끝내지 않고 황색과 갈색 계열을 여러 단계로 겹쳐 깊이를 만들었습니다.

돌출된 부분은 밝게, 패인 부분은 '어둡게 눌러 실제 조명 아래에서도 표면의 요철이 살아나도록 명암을 설계' 하였습니다.

👁️. 얼굴과 눈동자

이번 작업에서 가장 공을 들인 부분입니다.

눈동자는 단순한 색칠이 아니라 (레진 작업과 광택 표현을 함께 적용해 실제 눈처럼 빛이 맺히는 느낌을 목표)로 작업을 했고,

주변부에는 깊은 명암을 넣어 시선이 자연스럽게 눈으로 모이도록 했고, 보라색 계열의 얼굴 파츠는 노란색 몸체와 강하게 대비시켜 전체적인 색 균형을 잡았습니다.

리페인트에서 얼굴은 작은 차이가 전체 완성도를 좌우합니다.
때문에 눈의 위치와 명암, 색의 농도를 여러 차례 확인하며 수정했습니다.

🦷. 이빨과 표면 질감

이빨도 단순히 흰색으로 칠하지 않았습니다.

각 치아의 밝기와 음영을 조금씩 달리하고 치아 사이를 어둡게 눌러 깊이감을 만들었습니다.

몸체는 매끈한 양산품의 느낌을 지우고, 거칠고 낡은 표면을 살리는 방향으로 작업했습니다.

"가까이에서 볼수록 질감이 보이고, 멀리서 바라보면 하나의 캐릭터로 완성되는 것".

해당 작품에서 중요하게 생각한 작업기준안 입니다.

🎨. Real Horror Painting

이번 작업의 기준은 “예쁘게 무섭게”가 아니라 “리얼해서 불편한 느낌”에 가깝습니다.

에어브러시로 전체적인 명암과 색의 깊이를 잡고, 정밀 붓으로 스크래치와 오염, 표면의 세부적인 흔적을 추가했습니다.

공포라는 소재를 다루지만 작업 자체는 어디까지나 <미술적 표현과 조형적 완성도에 초점을 맞춘 안전한 아트 작업>입니다.

🍕. “LET’S EAT!”

앞치마의 문구 역시 Nightmare Chica를 상징하는 중요한 요소입니다.

새것처럼 깨끗하게 표현하기보다 전체적인 표면과 어울리는 낡은 느낌을 선택했습니다.

귀여운 문구와 기괴한 얼굴이 한 작품 안에서 공존하는 것.

저는 그 불편한 대비 자체가 치카의 매력이라고 생각합니다.

🖤. One-off Repaint

본 작품은 *Horror Theme Limited One-off Repaint입니다.

같은 원형을 다시 작업하더라도 색의 농도, 오염의 위치, 붓 터치와 명암의 흐름까지 동일하게 재현할 수 없습니다.

리페인트의 가치는 단순히 색을 바꾸는 데 있지 않습니다.

원형을 어떻게 바라보고, 어디에 멈추며, 무엇을 남길 것인가.

결국 그 판단이 작품의 차이를 만든다고 생각합니다.

이번 Nightmare Chica 역시 그런 기준으로 완성했습니다.


2. 작품을 마치며

Nightmare Chica는 귀여운 캐릭터를 억지로 무섭게 만든 캐릭터가 아닙니다.

원래 가지고 있던 형태와 특징을 끝까지 밀어붙였을 때 자연스럽게 만들어지는 "불쾌하지만 그 내면의 기괴한 아름다움"이 있는 캐릭터입니다.

노란색의 친숙함 안에 낡은 질감과 깊은 명암을 넣고,
앞치마의 익숙한 “LET’S EAT!” 아래에는 날카로운 이빨과 벌어진 턱을 남겼습니다.

멀리서는 하나의 캐릭터로,
가까이에서는 하나의 조형 작품으로.

그 두 가지가 동시를 동시표현하여 고객들의 애정과 시선을 느끼는 것.

그것이 이번 Nightmare Chica에서 제가 완성하고 싶었던 모습입니다.
