[BUNJANG] Gilt Jade Seated Shakyamuni Buddha Statue / 금채색석가모니상. 이벤트

A striking seated Buddha statue crafted from dark green jade, featuring a deep, moss-like hue with subtle white mineral inclusions. The jade possesses a dense, less translucent quality characteristic of abundant local jade deposits, making it slightly less hard than traditional nephrite.

This Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted in a serene seated posture upon a double-lotus pedestal, with hands resting in the meditation mudra (dhyana mudra) at the stomach, holding a begging bowl.

The robe surfaces are intricately carved with recessed patterns filled with gold gilt. Motifs include auspicious clouds, stylized water patterns, and auspicious character designs. The collar and cuffs are broadly adorned with gilt patterns, and the chest features the Buddhist auspicious symbol of the 'manji' (swastika). The entire piece is a full round sculpture. The lotus petals are carved in layers, and the facial expression is gentle, with large earlobes and broad shoulders, reflecting traditional characteristics.

This Shakyamuni seated meditation statue symbolizes peace and purity, making it ideal for devotional display. The lotus signifies purity, the manji represents auspiciousness and myriad virtues, and the circular auspicious clouds on the robe signify blessings and longevity.
