A "Munin-hwa" (literati painting) orchid artwork by an artist known by the pen name Hakchon (鶴村).

The flowing curves of the orchid leaves are based on calligraphic brushstrokes, and the artist's vital energy (氣運) is revealed through fluid yet powerful brushwork.

The painting includes a handwritten inscription by the artist:

"知音 학촌 씀
(Meaning: Knowing friend / Written by Hakchon)
This signifies understanding one's true feelings,
Like listening to the sounds of a Geumungo (Korean zither)."
