In the 1970s, the Ibis population drastically declined, leading to endangerment. Through the concerted efforts of the three nations, the Ibis population in South Korea, Japan, and China has increased significantly, with numbers ranging from hundreds to approximately a thousand times their previous low.

The Ibis now represents not only the cooperation and friendship between South Korea, China, and Japan but also serves as a catalyst for collaboration in various fields, including environmental protection, tourism, culture, and inter-city exchanges.
