This is a Baekja (white porcelain) square inkstone crafted by Ji Soon-tak (1912-1993), a designated Intangible Cultural Property of Gyeonggi Province (No. 4).

Ji Soon-tak was a renowned ceramic artist who established the Goryeo Doyo in Icheon in 1957, which later became known as Ji Soon-tak Doyo and a leading kiln in the Icheon pottery village. He significantly contributed to promoting Korean pottery in Japan through numerous solo and invited exhibitions held across Japan from the 1970s to the 1990s.

The inkstone showcases the exquisite artistry of white porcelain, adorned with both blue (Cheonghwa) and iron (Cheolhwa) glazes, representing a fusion of traditional Korean ceramic techniques.

-1912년 서울에서 태어났으며 1928년 서울
 보성고등보통학교(현재의 보성고등학교)를 
중퇴하였다.
이후 전국의 가마터를 답사하며 도자기에 관한
 지식을 쌓아갔으며 본격적으로 도자기를 
공부하기로 결심하였다.
-1937년 경기도 여주시 오금리에서 직접
 도자기 공방을 운영하고 이후에는 전국 각지를 
전전하면서 도자기 연구와 제작을 계속하였다.
- 1944년 한국미술연구소에 입소하였으며
- 1949년 국전에서 입상하였다.
- 1957년 경기도 이천군 신둔면에 고려도요를 
설립하였다.
- 이 도요는 훗날 지순탁요로 이름이 바뀌었으며 
이천 도예촌을 대표하는 명문 도요 중 
하나로 손꼽히게 되었다.
- 1970~1990년 일본 각지에서 많은 개인전과 
초청전을 치르면서 일본에 우리 도자기의 
아름다움과 우수성을 널리 알리는 데 크게
 공헌하였다.
- 1988년 12월 경기도 무형문화재 제4호 
기능보유자로 선정되었다.
- 1993년 9월에 사망하였으며 이듬해인 
- 1994년에 일본 도쿄에서 그를 추모하는 
유작 전시회가 열렸다.
