A beautiful celadon porcelain jar with a lid, originating from the Haeju Kiln, dating back to the late Joseon Dynasty (late 19th to early 20th century).

**Condition:** Complete and in excellent condition with no repairs or chips. Comes with its original lid.

This jar features a charming shrimp motif, a symbol in East Asian art often associated with auspicious meanings such as 'everything goes smoothly' and 'a long and happy marriage.' The cobalt blue pigment used for the shrimp design and the lid's pattern exhibits a rich, deep hue with distinct variations in tone, creating a vivid depiction.

Despite its compact size, comparable to a small medicinal jar, this piece possesses a substantial weight due to its thick walls. The glaze has a slightly rough texture, characteristic of everyday ceramic ware used by common people during this era, lending it a rustic yet captivating charm and a sense of warmth.
