An exquisite embroidered artifact from the Joseon Dynasty to the modern era. The mother-of-pearl inlay on the frame is designed to further enhance the embroidery.

The vibrant red silk used as the base fabric, typical of imperial or noble household ceremonial attire and embroidered screens, symbolizes warding off evil spirits, joy, and the auspiciousness of a wedding. In Joseon Dynasty homes, both aristocratic and common, embroidered screens or paintings of 'Hwajodo' (flower and bird motifs), depicting harmonious pairings of flowers and birds, were commonly found in the inner chambers. The two central birds facing each other or affectionately together symbolize a couple living in harmony and growing old together, embodying the concept of marital bliss, a representative auspicious motif of the Joseon Dynasty. The presence of smaller chicks gathered around the two larger birds is a common form found in artifacts directly wishing for numerous sons ('Danam') and prosperity of descendants, reflecting the Confucian values and folk beliefs of the Joseon era, emphasizing the importance of lineage.

The geometric pattern surrounding the embroidered border resembles the 'thunder pattern' (Goemun) or a variation of the 'A-ja' pattern, frequently used in Joseon Dynasty celadon pottery, woodwork, and ceremonial robes ('Hwalot'). This motif signifies the continuous and eternal flow of good fortune.
