This is a white porcelain tea caddy, likely used for storing and gifting precious tea. While its size might seem small from a modern perspective of abundance, it is understandable when considering its original purpose as a container for high-quality, valuable tea in the past.

Four lug handles are attached to the shoulders, designed for securing with a string. These not only serve a functional purpose but also appear to be a decorative element. The lid's knob (new) is simple yet showcases the potter's skilled craftsmanship.

Perhaps due to the weight of time, there is some minor mending on the rim (gu-yeon-bu). Fortunately, this does not significantly detract from its appreciation. It is a small yet elegant piece.

귀한 차(茶)를 담아 선물하던 용도로 쓰였을 것 같은
백자차호이다.
물질이 풍부한 현대인의 시각으로는
크기가 좀 작아 보일 수도 있겠으나
옛날, 고품질의 귀한 차를 담는 용기라 생각한다면
수긍할 만하다.
어깨에는 끈으로 묶을 수 있도록 네 곳에 고리를 만들어 붙였는데
기능 못지 않게 장식적 요소로도 잘 어울리는 것 같다.
뚜껑의 손잡이(뉴) 역시 단순해 보이지만
도공의 능숙한 손재주를 엿볼 수 있는 부분이다.
세월의 무게가 컸던 탓일까?
구연부 쪽에 일부 제살 붙임이 있는데
다행히 감상에 큰 무리는 아닌 정도이다.
작지만 기품이 느껴지는 기물이다.
크기는 높이 약 13.3, 입지름 6.5 cm이다.
