**Artist Biography:**
Kim Myung-jae (also known as Cheongdang) was a renowned Korean painter born in Suncheon, South Jeolla Province. He founded the Namhwa Research Institute in Mokpo and is considered one of the three prominent disciples of the master Huh Gun (Namnong).
Initially, he studied landscape painting under Huh Gun. Later, he also studied Hwajodo (paintings of birds and flowers) under Jang Woo-sung.
Unlike typical landscape paintings, Kim Myung-jae's works are characterized by their vibrant use of a diverse color palette, resulting in a rich and opulent visual experience.

목포 남화연구원을 설립하였으며
남농 허건의 3대 제자로 불리우며, 허건에게 산수화를 사사한 이후에는 장우성에게 화조화를 배우가도 하였다.
일반적인 산수화와 달리 다양한 색을 써서 화려하다.
