This is a reproduction of a unique E-shaped pottery (E-hyeong-to-gi), specifically a boat-shaped vessel.

**Dimensions:**
- Width: 22 cm
- Height: 16 cm

**Dating:** Estimated to be a reproduction.

**Condition:**
- One decorative loop on the side of the hull is missing.
- Minor chipping/loss is suspected on the very end of the oars.

**About E-hyeong-to-gi (異形土器):
E-hyeong-to-gi, meaning 'uniquely shaped pottery,' refers to earthenware from the Three Kingdoms period that imitates specific forms such as human figures, animals, or houses.

This particular piece features a vessel shaped like the hull of a boat, supported by a tall pedestal (daegak).

Characteristically, the boat depicts rowers with playfully expressed faces and postures.

These artifacts connect the past with the present, and ancient people with us. The faces within the clay pottery seem to speak to us with their bright smiles.

As grave goods found in Silla and Gaya royal tombs from the late 5th to early 6th centuries, approximately 20 types of such pottery exist. The types of pottery and their burial methods varied between Silla and Gaya, and even among smaller states within the Gaya region.

Pottery unearthed from Silla and Gaya tombs often carried shamanistic or symbolic meanings rather than purely practical functions. Some earthenware artifacts with highly unusual shapes and strong decorative qualities are difficult to categorize as pottery due to their lack of utilitarian function, highlighting their rarity.

**Reproduction Details:**
This item is estimated to be a reproduction (Bangpum), likely created for museum display purposes. The exquisite quality and the aged patina give it a feel remarkably close to an authentic piece.

It is believed to have been crafted decades ago, possibly around the 1970s, by a master artisan for museum or exhibition use, rather than as a genuine artifact. The sense of age is exceptional.

While described as a reproduction, discerning its authenticity from a genuine piece would be challenging for the average observer. If this were an authentic E-hyeong-to-gi, it would likely be valued at tens of millions of won.

This reproduction is a rare find, ideally suited for display purposes.

**Condition Notes:**
The overall structure is sound. However, as mentioned, one decorative loop on the hull is missing, and there is minor suspected chipping on the outer part of one oar. It remains ambiguous whether this is original to the reproduction or a result of age.

Despite these minor imperfections, the piece boasts many strengths, including its overall proportions, the rich color of the pottery, and the authentic aged appearance from the wood-fired kiln.

Please understand this as a highly rare E-hyeong-to-gi reproduction.

Thank you.
