[BUNJANG] Master Kim Jin Han Celadon Plum Blossom & Bird Design Inkstone / 무형문화재 제6호 서암 김진한 명장의 백운상석 매화문 화조도 벼루

This inkstone is a masterpiece by Master Kim Jin Han, designated as Intangible Cultural Property No. 6.

Crafted from Nam-po stone, this unused new product showcases a beautiful plum blossom and bird design. It was displayed as a decorative piece and has a vintage feel that grows more endearing with time. Subtle patterns inherent to the Nam-po stone subtly emerge on the base and back, resembling water droplets, making this artwork captivating.

Master Kim Jin Han, born in Boryeong in 1941, represents the third generation of the renowned Nam-po inkstone tradition, following his grandfather (Kim Hyung Soo) and father (Kim Gab Yong).

He was designated as a holder of the Nam-po inkstone production skill, Intangible Cultural Property No. 6 of Chungcheongnam-do, in 1987 (or 1988).

Master Kim was honored with the 'Proud Chungnam Person' award in 2009, recognized as a 'Korea Master' (in stonework), and has received numerous other accolades and awards related to crafts and cultural heritage.

Starting in 2018, he initiated a national tour exhibition to promote the excellence of Nam-po inkstones.

Based on the enclosed pamphlet, the estimated production period is the early 1990s.

본 벼루는 무형문화재 제6호 충남 보령 남포 벼루장 서암 김진한 명장의 작품입니다.
사용안한 새제품이며 너무 예뻐 진열장에 진열 전시해 놓고 보던 작품으로 세월감은 느껴집니다.
바닥면과 뒷면을 보면 남포석에서 묻어나오는 옅은 문양들이 마치 물방울 처럼 은은하게 나타나 보면 볼수록 정감가는 작품입니다.(첨부사진참조)
벼루장 김진한 명장은 1941년 충남 보령 출생으로 할아버지(김형수), 아버지(김갑용), 에 이어 3대째 남포 벼루의 맥을 잇고 있는 벼루장입니다.
1987년(또는1988년) 충청남도 무형문화재 제6호 보령 남포 벼루 제작 기능 보유자로 지정되어습니다.
2009년 자랑스런 충남인상 선정 되었으며, 대한민국 명장(석공예분야) 선정 되었으며, 이외에도 다수의 공예대전 및 문화재 관련 표창을 받은것으로 알려져있습니다.
2018년 서울시를 시작으로 남포벼루의 우수성을 알리기 위한 전국 순회 전시를 개최했습니다.
