A celadon glazed ewer from the Yue Ware tradition, dating back to the Northern Song Dynasty. This piece showcases the elegant aesthetics of Song Dynasty celadon with its full body, gracefully extended spout, wide trumpet-shaped mouth, and well-balanced handle.

It features a subtle, jade-like celadon glaze that uniformly coats the surface, displaying a characteristic blend of calm grayish-blue and pale green hues typical of Yue Ware. The glaze exhibits natural signs of age and minor iron spots, conveying a profound sense of understated elegance.

Decorating the exterior body are engraved cloud patterns, rendered with flowing, curved lines and incised patterns that subtly emphasize the understated beauty inherent in Song Dynasty celadon, rather than overt ornamentation.

The base retains traces of soil and kiln support marks, characteristic of unearthed artifacts. Natural corrosion marks on the interior of the foot rim and the contact surface further attest to its long history of burial. A small chip is present on the rim of the spout, likely incurred during its long period of use and excavation, but it does not significantly detract from the overall appreciation or preservation of the piece.

Yue Ware was a prominent kiln site that led the development of Chinese celadon from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period through the Northern Song Dynasty, significantly influencing the later Southern Song Official Ware and Longquan celadon glaze.

This piece is a genuine unearthed artifact from the Northern Song Dynasty Yue Ware, well-preserved with typical form, glaze, and engraved decoration, making it a work of outstanding academic and collectible value. 북송 시기에 제작된 월요(越窯) 계통의 청유 주전자입니다.

풍만한 동체 위로 길게 뻗은 주구와 넓게 벌어진 나팔형 구연부, 그리고 균형감 있게 연결된 손잡이가 조화를 이루며 송대 청자의 단아한 미감을 잘 보여주는 작품입니다. 실용기임에도 조형미를 놓치지 않은 북송 도공들의 높은 수준을 확인할 수 있습니다.

전면에는 은은한 비색 계열의 청유가 고르게 시유되어 있으며, 차분한 회청색과 담녹색이 어우러진 유색은 월요 청자의 전형적인 특징을 보여줍니다. 유면에는 자연스러운 세월의 흔적과 미세한 철분 반점이 관찰되며, 과장되지 않은 절제미 속에서 깊은 품격을 느낄 수 있습니다.

동체 외벽에는 반복적인 운문(雲文) 계열의 음각 장식이 시문되어 있습니다. 구름이 흘러가는 듯한 곡선과 빗살무늬 선각이 은은하게 표현되어 있으며, 강한 장식성보다는 송대 청자 특유의 담백한 아름다움을 강조하고 있습니다.

바닥에는 출토품 특유의 토착 흔적과 가마받침 자국이 남아 있으며, 굽 안쪽과 접지면의 자연스러운 부식 흔적 역시 오랜 세월 매장 환경을 거친 진품 출토품의 특징을 보여줍니다. 주구 입술 부분에는 작은 칩이 확인되나, 이는 오랜 세월 사용 및 출토 과정에서 발생한 것으로 보이며 전체적인 감상과 보존 상태에는 큰 영향을 주지 않습니다.

월요는 오대십국부터 북송에 이르기까지 중국 청자의 흐름을 이끌었던 대표적인 요장으로, 이후 남송 관요와 용천요 비색청자의 발전에도 큰 영향을 주었습니다. 본 작품은 북송 월요 청자의 전형적인 기형과 청유, 음각 장식이 잘 남아 있는 진품 출토품으로 학술적·수장적 가치가 돋보이는 작품입니다.
