**Artwork Description:**
This is a colored painting of flowers and objects, attributed to a female court painter of the Qing Dynasty. The composition features lotuses as the central motif, surrounded by vases and incense burners. The artwork is characterized by its decorative style, combining subtle coloring with fine brushwork.

Ink inscriptions and a seal are present on the left side. The back is mounted with hemp cloth. Natural signs of age, including paper aging and creases, are visible, consistent with its historical nature.

**Artist Attribution:**
Yu Sheng (余省, 1692~1767) was a prominent court painter active during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty. Born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, his courtesy name was Luzhan (魯瞻) and his art name was Xiaogu (曉谷). He excelled particularly in flower-and-bird paintings and paintings of precious objects and flowers. Alongside his father, Yu Zhi (余稚), also a court painter, he enjoyed the deep trust of the imperial family.

Yu Sheng inherited the calligraphic brushwork and exquisite coloring techniques of his father. Simultaneously, influenced by Giuseppe Castiglione (Lang Shining), a Western painter active in the Qing court, he incorporated chiaroscuro and three-dimensional effects, establishing a realistic and ornate style. His works are praised for possessing both the refined artistic sentiment of literati painting and precise depictive power, elevating the standard of flower-and-bird painting in the Qing Dynasty.

청대 궁정화가 여성의 채색 화폭으로 전해지는 화훼기물도 입니다. 연꽃을 중심으로 화병·향로 등 기물이 배치된 구성으로, 담채 위주의 색감과 세필 표현이 어우러진 장식적인 화면입니다. 좌측에 묵서와 낙관이 남아 있습니다. 후면은 삼베로 배접되어 있고, 종이의 노화와 접힘 자국 등 자연스러운 세월감이 확인됩니다. 미감정품.

“향기로운 연꽂을 높이 꺾어 오니, 푸른 꽃받침은 이제 막 비가 갠 듯 싱그럽구나. 그림자는 못 중심에 거꾸로 비치고, 맑은 향기는 바람을 따라 스며드네. (연잎의)깊은 푸른빛은 운치 있는 시 구절을 떠올리게 하니, 유정에서 여성이 그리다.“

청대 궁정화가 여성(余省, 1692~1767)은 청나라 건륭 연간에 활약한 대표적인 궁중 화가로, 자는 노점(魯瞻), 호는 효곡(曉谷)이며 강소성 상숙 출신입니다. 그는 화조화와 기명절지화에 특히 뛰어났으며, 궁중 화가였던 아버지 여치(余稚)와 함께 황실의 두터운 신임을 받았습니다. 여회의 서법적 필치와 정교한 채색 기법을 계승하는 동시에, 당시 궁중에서 활동하던 서양 화가 장세녕(주세페 카스티글리오네)의 영향으로 명암법과 입체감을 도입하여 사실적이고 화려한 화풍을 확립했습니다. 그의 작품은 격조 높은 문인화의 정취와 정밀한 묘사력을 동시에 갖추고 있어 청대 화조화의 수준을 한 단계 높였다는 평가를 받습니다.
