This piece features a yellow ground with vertical and fine crackles, along with subtle glaze pooling between the cracks.
☆ Originating from the Qing Dynasty Guangxu period, this item belonged to Empress Dowager Cixi, who favored yellow-ground wares, particularly those with enamelled floral motifs.
'Da Ya Zhai' inscription, meaning 'Studio of Great Elegance', was Cixi's personal studio.
The base bears the mark 'Ying Qing Chang Chun' (永慶長春), signifying 'Eternal Celebration and Unending Spring'. This auspicious mark, in imperial red, was chosen by the Guangxu Emperor, as the color red itself represents auspiciousness and blessings.
