Sweet Memories '93 is a ballad album featuring remakes of previously released songs. The album includes a new vocal and real arrange version of the 1983 hit song "SWEET MEMORIES," which also served as the album's title track. Additionally, the highly recognized song "抱いて…" (Hug Me...), originally a non-single, is presented in a ballad arrangement. The track "The Right Combination," released in the US in 1990, is also included in a renewed Japanese lyric version.

Approximately one month after the album's release, on December 31st, Seiko Matsuda won the Best Vocal Award at the 34th "Shine! Japan Record Awards" for the song "きっと, また逢える…" (Surely, We Will Meet Again...), which is featured on this album.

1990년에 전미에서도 발매된 "The Right Combination"은 일본어 가사로 리뉴얼되어 수록되었다.
당앨범 발매로부터 약 1개월 후인 12월 31일에 TBS계열에서 방송된 제 34회 빛난다! 일본 레코드 대상에서는 수록곡이기도 한 "きっと, また逢える…"로 최우수 가창상을 수상했다.
