Oracle Bone Script was used by the Shang Dynasty royal family to record divination results and state affairs on turtle shells and ox bones. It was used for important matters such as war, agriculture, and sacrifices. However, until the late Qing Dynasty, people who did not know its value considered it a medicinal ingredient called 'dragon bone' (龍骨) and ground it for medicinal use, leading to the disappearance of countless oracle bone inscriptions.

Systematic research began in 1899 when scholar Wang Yirong discovered ancient characters on oracle bones within medicinal ingredients. This led to the verification of the Shang Dynasty's existence and the historical system of ancient Chinese civilization through actual relics.

This piece is an excavated item from the Yin Ruins region of the ancient Shang Dynasty. It is offered at a low price as it has not undergone official appraisal. This is a rare item that is difficult to come by.

갑골문은 중국 상나라 왕실에서 거북 껍질과 소뼈에 점괘와 국가 기록을 새긴 가장 오래된 한자 체계 가운데 하나로, 전쟁·농사·제사 같은 중요한 일을 점치기 위해 사용되었습니다. 그러나 청나라 말기까지도 그 가치를 몰랐던 사람들은 이를 ‘용골(龍骨)’이라는 한약재로 여겨 갈아 약으로 사용했고, 수많은 갑골문이 이 과정에서 사라졌습니다. 이후 1899년 학자 왕의영이 약재 속 갑골에서 고대 문자를 발견하면서 본격적인 연구가 시작되었고, 이를 통해 상나라의 실존과 중국 고대문명의 역사 체계가 실제 유물로 입증되게 되었습니다.
