[BUNJANG] Song Dynasty Ge Kiln Crackle Glaze Teacup / 가요 빙렬문 찻잔

This exquisite teacup is a masterpiece from the Song Dynasty (1127–1279), showcasing the distinctive golden-wire and iron-thread crackle glaze characteristic of Ge Kiln pottery.

Measuring 5.5cm in height with a mouth diameter of 10.5cm, the teacup features a gracefully flared rim and a stable base. The entire surface is covered with a thick, grayish-white glaze, adorned with natural crackles, a hallmark of Ge Kiln. These crackles, known as 'golden-wire and iron-thread,' overlap and add depth over time. The glaze has a subdued, warm luster, presenting the firm yet smooth aesthetic of Song Dynasty celadon.

The low, neat foot exhibits natural firing marks and oxidation. The crackles are entirely natural, formed by the tension of the glaze and contraction of the clay body, creating a stable and visually appealing pattern. The beauty of Song Dynasty Ge Kiln celadon lies in its glaze and crackle patterns rather than decorative elements; this teacup exemplifies this, with the crackles themselves becoming the primary artistic feature.

This teacup, with its ancient, understated elegance, is suitable for both collection and everyday use. It is a rare piece that I have owned for a long time.

남송 가요(哥窯) 빙렬문 찻잔(茶盞)

남송대(南宋, 1127–1279) 가요 특유의 금사철선과 전형적인 기형과 유조를 보여주는 찻잔입니다. 완만하게 벌어지는 구연과 안정감 있는 저부 비례가 단아하며, 태토 위에 두텁게 시유된 회백색 유약 전면에 크고 작은 빙렬(開片)이 자연스럽게 전개되어 있습니다.
빙렬은 대·소 균열이 중첩되는 전형적인 가요의 ‘금사철선(金絲鐵線)’ 계열 구조로 보이며, 시간이 흐르며 착색된 균열선이 깊이감을 더합니다. 유층은 비교적 윤기가 절제된 온윤(溫潤)한 질감으로, 단단하면서도 부드러운 송대 청자의 미감을 잘 보여줍니다.
굽은 낮고 단정하며, 굽 안과 접지부에는 자연스러운 화반 흔적과 산화 착색이 확인됩니다. 전체적으로 인위적 균열이 아닌 자연 개편(自然開片)의 흐름을 보이며, 유면의 긴장감과 태토 수축 차이에서 비롯된 구조적 빙렬 양상이 안정적입니다.
남송 관요·가요 계열 청자의 미학은 장식보다 유약과 균열의 표정에 있으며, 본 기물 역시 군더더기 없는 기형 위에 빙렬 자체가 조형 요소로 작용하는 작품입니다. 차를 담았을 때 유면에 스며드는 색 변화 또한 감상의 요소가 됩니다.
송대 가요 특유의 고졸(古拙)하고 절제된 분위기를 갖춘 찻잔으로, 컬렉션 및 실사용 겸용 모두 가능한 작품으로 판단됩니다.
