[BUNJANG] Song Dynasty Jun Ware "Meiguiwen" Cup and Saucer / 송균요매괴문 잔잔대

This is a "Meiguiwen" (Rose Pattern) cup and saucer from the Jun Ware tradition of the Song Dynasty, one of the Five Great Kilns of China.

**Condition:** There is a small chip on the flared edge of the cup stand.

This piece features Jun Ware's distinctive "Tianlanyou" (sky blue glaze) base adorned with "Zihongban" (purple-red spots). Jun Ware is characterized by the appearance of red or purple spots on a sky-blue glaze, created by copper elements. This effect, known as "Yaobian" (kiln transmutation), is an artistic element formed by chance within the kiln.

The cup's handle is intricately carved in the shape of a dragon or a mythical beast, and both the cup and saucer showcase a curvilinear beauty with a petal-shaped (Linghuaxing) profile.

While this style was popular during China's Song, Jin, and Yuan dynasties, its exquisite beauty led to its continued production into the Qing Dynasty. The base of the clay reveals a dark brown body, characteristic of Jun Ware's iron-rich clay.

Originating from the Yuzhou region of Henan Province, China, this piece appears to be from the later period, indicated by its "Baoguang" (glowing luster) and "Jupimian" (orange peel texture), marking it as a well-crafted example of Jun Ware.

​이 작품은 균요 특유의 '천청유(天藍釉)' 바탕에 '자홍반(紫紅斑)'이 들어간 형태로
​균요는 푸른 하늘색(천청색) 유약 위에 구리 성분이 섞여 붉은색이나 보라색 점이 나타나는 것이 특징입니다.
이를 '요변(窯變)'이라 부르며, 가마 안에서 우연히 만들어지는 예술적 효과죠.
​잔의 손잡이가 용이나 서수(상서로운 동물) 모양으로 정교하게 조각되어 있으며, 잔과 받침 모두 꽃잎 모양(능화형)으로 굽이진 곡선미를 보여줍니다.

이 스타일은 중국 송(宋)나라에서 금(金), 원(元)나라 시대에 유행했었는데 워낙 아름다워서 청대까지 계속해서 만들어진 균요매괴문 잔잔대이고 ​태토 바닥면을 보면 짙은 갈색의 태토가 드러나 있는데, 이는 균요 도자기 특유의 유약인 철족입니다.
​중국 허난성(河南省) 위저우(禹州) 지역에서 만들어지는데 보광이나 귤피면 표면으로 보아 후방으로 보이며 잘 만들어진 균요라 하겠습니다.
