### Synopsis

The appointed time has come. Tadashi Daiba lives a rough, aimless life on a junkyard planet. One day, upon returning home, Tadashi witnesses his father's death. Before a stunned Tadashi, four figures claiming to be the dead appear. As they attempt to kill Tadashi, a flash of light pierces their chests from behind. "If you want to become a true man, board my ship." The man who saved Tadashi disappears, leaving these words behind.

**■ Characters**

* **Captain Harlock:** A space pirate who sails the galaxy aboard the Arcadia. He loves freedom and fights according to his beliefs. Though his expression is often cold, he is warm-hearted and a charismatic character.
* **Emeraldas:** A woman who worked as a freelance trader in space. Her story begins when her ship, the Emeraldas, crash-lands on Earth. Tochiro repairs her ship, and through this encounter, they become eternally devoted to each other. After receiving an injury to her face, similar to Harlock's, at the hands of the Armaroid, she becomes a fearsome space pirate, wandering the universe with Harlock.
* **Tochiro Oyama:** The original designer and builder of the Arcadia. He constructed the Arcadia in a secret underground facility and met Harlock while searching for a captain to command it. He also has his first meeting with his lover, Emeraldas, and later lives eternally aboard the Arcadia with Harlock.

약속의 때가 왔다.쓰레기장 별에 살면서 아무런 목적도 없이 거친 생활을 하는 다이바 타다시. 어느날 집에 돌아온 타타시는 아버지의 죽음을 보게된다. 망연자실한 타다시 앞에 나나타 자신들을 누라고 밝히는 죽은 자 4명.그들이 타다시를 죽이려 하는데 그때, 뒤에서 빛이 번쩍하며 죽은 자의 가슴을 꿰뚫는다.."진짜 사나이가 되고 싶거든 내 배에 타라."타다시를 구해준 남자는 그런 말을 남기고 사라졌다.

▶에메랄다스(Emeraldas)우주애서 자유무역 중개인업을 하고있던 여인 에메랄더스는 자신의 에메랄더스호가 지구에 불시착하며 자신의 스토리를 시작한다추락한 에메랄더스호를 토치로가 고쳐주게 되고 그 인연으로 인해 둘은 영원히 사랑하는 사이가 된다아르미다스 군에의해 얼굴에 하록과 같은 상처를 입게되고 추방당한 하록과 함께 우주를 떠도는 무서운 여해적이 되게된다.
